Skywalk is an early-stage deep tech startup founded by a team of Stanford PhDs and MBAs. We are looking for an experienced hardware systems architect to join our team and build the first platform for intuitive on-body computing. In this role you’ll help our hardware engineers determine product roadmap, make trade-offs between design and implementation, and explore new features.
This position is highly flexible with a commitment of 5-10 hours per week.

What you’ll be up to…
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to identify core features and create system specifications.
Define hardware modules, optimize component selection, and determine architectural tradeoffs across areas such as performance, power supply, cost, durability, and integration.
Work with hardware team to review designs and suggest areas for iterative improvement. Support implementation of best practices across process, quality standards, analysis, and documentation.
You might be a good fit if you have…
7+ years experience in system and architectural design for wearable consumer electronics.
Experience bringing new electronics products from prototype to production.
Strong writing and communication skills for effective consulting and design reviews.
