Application - Data Collection Contractor

Skywalk is looking for a full-time data collection contractor to join our crew for the next 3 months (option to extend)!

Skywalk is an early-stage startup founded by a group of 6 Stanford graduate students. We’re building a new generation of wearable devices that let people interact with computers in brand-new and exciting ways - check out a demo video here! https://youtu.be/e8F5cxVMcwM.

Our Data Collection PM will work with our team to test prototype devices and ensure collection of high-quality data on a weekly basis. This may include recruiting new users, developing data QC pipelines, and implementing and conducting experiments developed by the Data Science team in a controlled fashion.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor data collection experiments to ensure high-quality data are collected in a controlled fashion

  • Work closely with the Data Science team to understand the data collection process and requirements

  • Review collected data to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Build QC pipelines for collected data to identify trends and anomalies

  • Report progress to the ML and Data Science team

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Availability for in-person work at our Palo Alto office adjacent to the Stanford University campus

  • Ability to run controlled experiments with attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in Python, statistical analysis, and data visualization

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

 

Details:

  • Immediate start date

  • 3 month temporary contractor position with an emphasis on data collection

  • Compensation $20 - 30/hr, depending on experience.

  • Option to extend into a software engineering role!

 

Ideal (but 100% Optional) Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Unity

  • Experience with embedded programming (C, C++)
